  1. Grand like big?  Or grand like nice?

The Emma Maersk (contaienr ship) is big enough that the Titanic could fit inside of it.

Current Cruise ships are just as luxurious as the Titanic was in the past.

However, no ship will ever have the same status as the pre-sinking Titanic did.  Ships are no longer the only way to travel, therefore they will never be as popular and special as they were then. I say you can think of the Airbus A-380 as the new Titanic.  It is ultra luxurious and is the top of the line way to travel, so much so that it almost becomes the staple of the trip.

  2. I think newer cruise ships are much nicer than the Titanic ever was. The Titanic was very impressive in her day, then but who wants to sit in wicker furniture and play shuffleboard anymore? Look at the QE2, Thats an impressive vessel. Waaay nicer than the Titanic.

  3. I'd say the Titanic taught shipbuilders that seaworthiness trumps grandiosity on the list of priorities.

  4. As grand yes, as eloquent never.

  5. Well ships grander than the Titanic have been built already, such as Cunards QE2 aand their new QV, (Queen Victoria ).

These  boats all have many features on board that people on the Titanic would never have dreamed about.

Also since a Titanic is going to be built, an exact replica then i am sure they will make it just as grand, here try this link

    look at this link:

  6. many newer ships rivaled the titanic in luxury. Look at the QE2 for instance. Although she is now being pulled from service due to age. While most ships are being designed for passenger pleasure and entertainment, a few will be built for pure luxury. I heard that 2 different shiplines want to build a modern version of the titanic, but have not heard who won the court case to decide who had the rights to the design.
