Does anyone think this kid has the potential to be the first Heavyweight Champion of Mexican descent?

Chris Arreola is young and has shown great KO power. It would be good to see a young fighter with promise clean up that division. Anyone watch his fights? What is your analysis?

I'd like to see him step into the ring with a Monte Barrett or Guinn or somebody... His opposition has not been stellar, and some of his fights have been much less than exciting...

If he steps up in class, fights a Barrett then Sam Peter, if he beats them both, we'll see how he does against a belt holder.  Arreola certainly has it in his favor that the division is relatively weak now.

anything is possible. I think it will be hard for him to become champion and get a shot at the title unless he faces good compeition and beats them.

its absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to be the first, because John Ruiz was the first Mexican to be a heavyweight champ, and secong Arreola wont even make it tru 3 against Klitschko

Hey Leon,

   I have seen him fight live lots of times out here in L.A. i'm not really impressed with him, he's more of a brawler than a boxer and as we all know, brawlers dont really last too long, sure they are exciting to watch for the moment, but they seem to die down pretty quick. I do see him winning some kind of Heavyweight title but considering how weak the division is right now thats not really saying much, so i guess he came into the Heavyweight division just at the right time. As for his fighting style, well like i said he is a brawler and brawler typically are dangerous punchers, he's very weak defensively but i attribute that to him relying on his punching too much. I dont see him mopping up the division, i dont see him even beating any of the top 5 Euro's in the division, so if Arreola does end up winning any of the major titles it'll come as a slight shock to me.
