  1. I use Magic Jack with my AT&T DSL Ultra Service and it has been wonderful!  Not sure what RICH is talking about.

Some people don't have a good internet provider or lines in their house, business, or wherever they are connecting to the internet to begin with.  So products like this seem to not perform as well for people with a bad provider, bad lines, other other network issues beyond their control.  Just like any electronic networking equipment, its performance can be hampered to other outside factors.

I love it so much that I recently closed my long distance account with AT & T and left them stuttering when trying to offer me another long distance solution.

It is also great for people who have family, friends, or business dealings overseas because they can call the US and Canada for free from anywhere on EARTH!

I like to so much that I recently became a distributor with rights to resell in several countries, even though my main line of business is website design.  Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions about its PROS and CONS.

  2. MagicJack claims it *might* work if you try this:

    1) Turn off Error Correction on your fax machine

    2) Set your fax to the slowest speed available, test to see if it works

    3) Check every other speed to see if it works

  3. Magic Jack is really not that fantastic..It is more of a 'toy'.. Service can be flaky on occasion, and incoming calls.....good luck..Yes, your computer must be on at all times to use it. There is some amount of spamming and junk mail along with the Magic Jack software. Not sure about spyware..You MUST have a fast broadband connection too.!! DSL is not quite good enough, will cut out...NO support.

  4. I use the MagicJack since last year and love it, but you can not use it with a fax!!

I just started my second year with the MJ and love it, but remember that you will need a very good ISP high-speed Internet

    Vonage is much to expensive.

I use a Panasonic DECT 6.0 phone with multiple extension!

the only con is the computer gotta be on "ON"...but that's no biggie for me....one of my laptop is always on anyways! just take the monitor off so it will not use much energy...

the MagicJack came out about last year in May/07

yes....its a good deal....if that's what you want....you can call anyone for free in the US and Canada for free....land line or cellphone!! I have one for over 1 year now and love it!

you just put the MagicJack into your USB port and use any old analog phone and make calls....!

the MJ software install when you put the MJ n your USB post....with the software and also a softfone if you wanna use it !

I use it since last year, and so far I love it! but you gotta know what you really want out of this gizmo! I use it strictly for travel and as a 2nd line in my house!

Don't expect too much from MagicJack....its not a phone service per se.....!

I had no problems installing it...matter-of-fact ....the install was faster and much more easier then my other VoIP service!

Land Phones its really easy to use....like a VoIP service (Internet phone)

but you computer got to be on at all times for it to work!!

You gotta download their software....but its very easy and you don't need to do nothing else...! I have it since last year...! so far I love it...I take it on vacation to other countries so I can call back for free with an US area code! Make sure you use another user account and not the admin account...also if you have trouble...check your device manager....don't do your iPot stuff at the same time...!

all you get is the Magic Jack...the rest you learn on your on, or at the MJ forum!

You will be up and running within 5 minutes....you can ask here questions when you get it going!! There are alot of little things you have to know........for it to work just right!!

the most important thing with the MJ...it all depends on your ISP provider....! I use other VoIP on my computer, but the MJ was the easiest to install...
