  1. hey yamie lol...

I have no clue what midpoints are...what exactly is it?

edit:Oh ok, yeah i'm still learning, might not know. Thanks!

  2. No, I don't know how to use them (limited understanding of Astrology) but most of my charts have a graph depicting the midpoints.  I just looked at mine and was horrified to discover so much Scorpio - lol.

Edit:  thanks Restless, so it is most helpful when looking at transits?

  3. I look at transits to midpoints occasionally and use them in synestry, I also pay attention to solar arcs involving midpoints--and your jupiter is also on my moon

  4. I only use them in synastry....they're helpful in composites when looking at interactions...

  5. Oh, I like midpoints:)

The meeting of the energies of two objects:) I've used them in natal, synastry and composite charts, but there's no reason you can't use them in progressed or any other kind of chart.

Typically, where they're really useful would be when they're being transited. So say for example we're looking at someone's mercury/sun midpoint, and it's being transited by saturn by hard aspect, this would indicate a time in the individual's life where some event or another (likely an unpleasant one) would occur which would somehow alter and bring discipline to how the individual expresses themselves and communicates.

Now, personal example. Pluto is currently conj. my n node, which is where I like it, but it was not too long ago, and will be again, opposed the midpoint between my saturn/south node conj.  Am not really looking forward to that again, but I know what I'm dealing with this time anyhow, so I'm better prepared than I was then anyhow to deal with it. Anyhow, long story short, it became very clear to me through occurences at that point in time just how I've used my saturn and south node placements to sabotage myself. Without getting into too many specifics;-)

The only other way I've used midpoints is to "tighten up" aspects within a chart, such as that saturn/s node conj. But again, it really only works when the midpoint is being transited, IMO.
