Question:

Does anyone use photos as avatars?

I am asking here because it is my favorite section and I do not want to alert everyone on Yahoo to the fact that this can be done (there are some pervs on here). There are also a lot of teenagers in this category so here goes....

Does everyone on here realize that when you put a photo as you avatar it can be copied and posted to Office or Word and then enlarged? It really is not too wise to put your photo on here.

Oh and so this is legitimate for the section. A lot of people use their horse's photo. Wouldn't want anyone recognizing them would we?

  1. i use my Adder, he wont get perved on :D

  2. That is a good point!!  I took off the real photos.  I don't like the idea of my pics going to who knows where!!!!!

  3. i use my horse

  4. Good warning.

I use my boy, Lincoln, for a avatar.

  5. Thanks for the warning. I wouldn't reveal any of my photos if they do that.

  6. I use a professional picture that someone took of my horse for my avatar. You cannot even tell what he looks like besides that he is an arab and even that is tough.

  7. I don't post my photo in my avatar. I have my photo on my website and other places. If anybody wants to enlarge my picture and pin it up they are welcome to it. I doubt that anybody would want to though.

  8. Thanks so much for the warning!

  9. yes and that is the reason why all my photos don't show my face or any natural landmarks in them just my favorite photo of an iberian fighting bull and occasionally of me taking punishment in my rodeo barrel which has also been changed from the previous years of being in rodeo.

  10. I currently use a photo of myself and my daughter riding one of my dad's mares.  I understand anyone in the world has access to Y!A including a bunch of creeps, but really, I don't think they're gonna identify me, my daughter, the horse, or the exact location of the photo.  I live in a pretty remote area, have a different hairstyle, the photo is over a year old, the horse isn't mine, and it's in a completely different state than where I live.  So I'm not worried.  Some folks should be, but not me.

  11. Agreed - the only photos I have online are available to people I approve (via Facebook, secure photo accounts, etc).  If I share photos, that's one thing.  But posting them out there for the whole world to see is not something I'd like to do - ever!

My avatar is by Leonardo DaVinci, so I think I'm safe!  :)
