  1. Stephie,

Instead of putting down your decision to get a ferret in the first place, I want to acknowledge you for realiziing that your home is not the best for your pet ferret.  I am sure that this was a tough decision for you to make, and shows real courage on your behalf!

I really wish I could help you out.  I'm out here in California, and ferrets are not legal here.

In the meantime, try contacting F.A.C.T.

They are the Ferret Association of Connecticut.

    Their weblink follows:  http://www.ferret-fact.org/

They will have the resources to place your beloved pet in a good home.

    Good Luck!

  2. Email me off list and I will try to help you find him/her a home. Need details. Okay?

  3. I adopted both my ferrets from FACT, it is a great place. I don't know if my parents will let me have another one, but if you could send me your location and a pic of him anyway? If not go to FACT in Hartford. Email here is ali.hiestand@yahoo.com

If my parents let me, which I doubt but it's worth a shot, I CAN provide a loving home, I researched my ferrets for 9 mos before getting them.

If I can't and no one else can, FACT is a great option. The shelter mom, Vanessa is a wonderful lady.

  4. and this is why ferret shelters are full of these little critters...when will people learn to do some research on a pet before bringing it home so they know what kind of thing they're getting into BEFORE it becomes an issue?

please please please make sure the next home he goes to is willing to give him what he needs so he's not getting bounced all over from home to home his whole life. there may be a ferret shelter near you willing to take him in. they'll arrange a good loving home for him with someone who's ready for the time and commitment they need.
