Does anyone wish they would tone down the human interest stories a bit?

I can understand the need of it since it lets people understand different cultures and helps showcase the hosted country. But it just seems like too much and too long at times. The underlining mission is the competition and it seems like an hours worth of reality shows clogging up the works. I like the idea of knowing a bit more about someone if they have a unique story about the win or their struggle to qualify but I dont need an 20 minute interview from the home town of the persons Uncles brother that used to go to school with the person.

  1. No. The Olympics are not ONLY about competetion. It's not about winning and getting the gold. The Olympics are about the world coming together, in good times or bad. In times of war, famine, etc etc, to reunite. Everyone has a story. And I think it's interesting to see where each athlete comes from and how hard they've worked to get here. They deserve the spotlight.

  2. I am not too interested in watching interviews in the Olympics.  Some stories of the hosting country culture can be interesting, but I am just not interested in watching people just sit down and chat.  Olympics are sports, and we want some excitement.

  3. Do you want to name names 'cos I haven't a Scoobie what you're on about.
