Having left hours b4 the flight, only to be stuck on the motorway due to a very serious accident (not just a jam, we allowed for this). We rushed to check in which we had missed by seconds. The girl at the desk said it would not be a problem due to it not being our fault, and she would put us on the later flight (9pm) at no extra cost. What a relief that was, until we moved over to another desk to get the change made (Glasgow/EMA return flight), then the bloke on that desk told my friend, we'd have to pay £360 for new tickets (ours was online booking at £170. We did't have that kind of money. Ended up losing all our holiday bookings due to this. I have never been late for a flight and go to EMA (Nottingham) a few times a year. I can't predict accidents. No one made any phone calls and I could not not speak to a supervisor.
Where can I phone/write to about this? I keep getting answer machines, then cut off.
All I want is my flight refund, or the chance to fly again in October at no extra cost.
Am I wasting my time?
