Question:

Does anyone work for Schlumberger at the Rock Springs, Wyoming location?

If so how is it? I'm coming out there in(two weeks) to be a equiptment operator for them hopefully!

  1. I did a stint in Gillette, WY. 25 years ago as an FE.

    Gillette is on the "plains" -- Rock Springs is more in the mountains.  If it's like it was 25 years ago you'll be on-call 9 days, then off for 3 or 4 days.  And trust me, they will "call" at 2AM, 3AM.  You'll drive out to the well site and sit while the stack is being pulled up, then setup the logging tools; drop them down the well on the line, and pull up slowly, perhaps repeating a couple of times.

    Back at the shop, so long as you keep the tools clean (really clean) and the truck clean, the boss should be happy.  Hopefully you won't get a manager/boss that makes 'busy' work for you when things are a bit slow.  But I doubt things will be too slow.
