  1. Yes;  all acids will react with the carbonate in baking soda and release carbon dioxide gas.

  2. All acids do

  3. The vigor of the reaction will be limited by the fact that baking soda is only a weak base. So, although using a stronger acid (such as hydrochloric acid) will lead to a more energetic reaction, it still won't be "spectacular". If you want a spectacular reaction, try 98% (concentrated) sulfuric acid with solid sodium hydroxide.

(I am not liable for any injury you may incur as a result of trying this, blah blah...)

  4. From home, you could try orange juice, lemon juice, coffee or tea.  They will give various levels of reactions.

  5. Any acid. (Citric acid is used in baking.)

Faster reaction, use stronger acid, (the power is limited

by the amount of baking soda you use though. There is only so much CO2 in a gram of the stuff, and vinegar is strong enough to release all of it).

Muriatic acid, (HCl), is available at you hardware store.

(Wear eye protection PLEASE. Wash off quickly if it contacts your skin.)

Please don't mess with other strong acids.

They are more dangerous than HCl and won't give you any better result.
