  1. Vlad Dracula is modeled after a 13th century count that was known has Vlad the Impaler. He lived in Romania and terrorized the locals. Because he was so blood thirsty people over time thought he was a Vampire and so he became Vlad Dracula.

  2. Romania

  3. Wallachia, in the Carpathian mountains - modern day Romania.

He's a hero to some, villain to others: he did stop the Turkish invasion of SE Europe, and he did limit the power and influence of incoming, opportunistic Saxon merchants, and he did rid his principality of crime and vagrancy.

On the downside, he did impale some 25,000 Turks on stakes as a 'deterrent' to future invaders, he did burn or boil  beggars alive, he did nail Turkish diplomats' turbans to their heads, and he did disembowel his own mistress during a temper tantrum.

Evil ****, or a firm but fair ruler, when judged in the context of his era?

  4. Wallachia

  5. Wallachia is correct. I suggest you research it along with Vlad. It is now part of present-day Romania.

  6. Oana I, my darling! I was born in Transilvania, an Hungarian territory, but today is part of Rumania. I would move to USA to mee you if you want!!! ha ha ha ha (scary laugh)
