  1. Civic Currency another change.

  2. Don't underestimate the power of the veto.  It gives any President an enormously big stick.

  3. No, in history any presidents to do any big changes especially in the banks got shot.

  4. Due to the increasing power and use of "Executive privilege".

  5. Well obviously.... George Bush really screwed things up.

  6. Well, it is true people put a lot of weight on the President, when really they should be putting weight on the Government in general. The only thing the President has control over indefinitely is our Military. (Which is, of course, one of the main reasons why Bush screwed things up) Other than that, they can propose things, but it still has to go through congress, and approved, etc. Everybody is usually responsible.

  7. No, the Congress pretty much has the say so.  The Prez can veto but the Congress can still override.

  8. yea mybe

  9. I think it is a combination of the different parts of our government that leads the president to make decisions.  Some of which he chooses when he is elected to office, and some that are appointed by other peoples influence. If you are asking if a president can have influence on the American economy and the world, then yes he can.  If you are asking if the new president can change the way things are, then yes, he can , if he is the right person to do the big job in front of him and brings the right people with him to office.

  10. Well, if a country runs by the presidential dictatorship then the president has power to make many changes. But if a country runs by the democratic presidential rules then the president has to get votes by the cabinets to pass a motion to make changes, President alone can not make changes. He needs his favorite cabinets to vote to a motion. Every presidents have handful of favorite cabinets to get majority to pass a motion and they use that influence in the cabinet. That is the advantage of the president/s.

  11. it won't change anything, government is the problem not the solution

  12. It does, my mom works for the Navy, and they're getting  clearance for all of their programs and stuff now, so if by chance Obama wins, they will still be allowed to continue the programs that they are working on currently. So in that aspect yes it does.

  13. Nah. I don't think any president is to blame for every problem. I also don't think any president is going to be a Messiah and better the  world dramatically. The prez has a lot of power but not 100% in control.

  14. My very politically active grandmother told me to vote to the party whose policies you agree with. The president does not act alone, so vote for which president you think will employ the most people in his cabinet who agree with your views.

  15. I think that the president has like..no say, which is sometimes good. Because they already have a c**p lode of power over us. It's not right for them to have everything. Because when they want a law or something, there are so many people who have to approve it. On the other hand, he does have the power to veto laws. So it depends on what exactly you want to know about. :)
