Does applying kajal damage our eye?

Kajal, eyeliners are all bad for your eyes.

Kajal being the most dangerous, the reason is that our eyelids have small openings at the margin, near the eye lash follicle. This is called Meibomian o*****e of the meibomian glands situated at in the eye lids. Function of these meibomian glands is to secrete lipid onto the tear film which spreads on top of the our tears in the eye and prevents it to evaporate, thus keeping our eyes moist for longer time.

Now if you put kajal or eyeliners these meibomian gland o*****e gets blocked leading to meibomitis (inflammation of meibomian glands.)

Other complications are Stye and Chalazion. (check wiki)

Kajal debris can also sometimes block the punctum (o*****e through which the tears of our eyes flow out) to cause epiphora (or excessive tearing or flooding of eyes with tears)

Sometimes sharing eyeliner wands can also be dangerous as the germs from others eye can get transmitted to your eye.

Similarly with kajal pencils if left open is always covered with germs which can lead to ocular infections.

the list of complications is never ending..

So if you dont want your Cleopatra's eye to change to a Cyclops eye..............

Please avoid Kajal/eyeliners etc.

it depends. my mom uses kajal. if you use it in your eye, than it's bad, but if you use it out [it'll look bad!] and it's fine.

but, kajal has had recent studies of lead poisoning...so, use eyeliner.

Yes off course your grandmom restricts you from applying kajal it means she luvs you and dose't want that you get some problem to your eyes , she cares for you .even doctors do not recommend now a days.
