Question:

Does artificial coloring really matter to you?

I read all these articles about calories and cholestrol and sodium levels and stuff, but today I read an article where they were outraged about how the Panera company uses artificial coloring for their pastries. I didn't think it was that big of a deal.

So I ask you my fellow humans, what really matters when you are deciding what to eat? Sugar? Sodium? Calories? Texture??

  1. I have no idea what the big fuss is about artificial colourings and flavourings.... I almost always look at the calories because i'm on a diet but artificial things meen almost nothing to me!

  2. Panera does not just "add" artificial coloring to the pastries.  It is  found in some of the ingredients. For example, the cherry pastry has canned cherries on top.  that has artificial coloring.

If they didn't have artificial coloring, no one would buy them because they wouldn't look like pastries. Think of an orange scone that was white because there was no coloring.

Really, I think it is stupid.  I care more about the taste, saturated fat, and trans fat than anything else.

  3. i dont think it is a big deal. WHO FREAKING CARES!!!

  4. The list for me goes like this

Calories- to determine how heavy this meal is

Sugar- to make sure it is the right type of sugar nothing over 10g

    Sodium- no higher that 109.

Texture- Depends on what the dish is but if it made correclty the texture should be a certain way.

Thats what i look at before I eat something.

  5. I would rather eat something that does NOT have artificial colorings or chemicals.  Cuz they just don't belong in our bodies.
