i have a tv and a ps3 and a sound system...i connect the A/V cables to the tv then use a line-in cord to connect the audio from the tv to my sound system...would it be better to connect the red and white audio cables from my ps3 straight to my sound system?

  1. Absolutely. Your TV only needs image signal, sound should be straight in the amp.

  2. prob the same and if there is a diffrence its way too small to even matter (they are both stereo just in diffrent forms)......but the less cables u use the better......so basicly connecting direct would be better.....but too little of a diffrence :o)

  3. Lose the red/white and line in connections. If you want to take advantage of the true surround sound, use digital coax cables or a digital optical cable. Either that, or HDMI.

  4. Considering that the Ps3 is a very high quality sound source, you should use the red/white audio cords, directly from your ps3 to your sound system. Connecting them through the TV forces the signal to travel though another piece of electronics, which could degrade the audio quality, in addition to requiring another cable. The direct connection will sound better (if only barely) but more importantly doesn't require the use of another cable.
