Question:

Does avgas and jet fuel emmit more or less co2 than usual car fuel?

can you tell me the answer and why. Also, i assume avgas wouls be less than car fuel becuse i think there is less oil in it.

And, this is per litre. So per litre of AvGas to Car fuel.

  1. avgas is high octane auto fuel with lead added (even low lead avgas) - there are no emmisions supressors in planes (catalytics) - so i suspect that planes are worse 1-to-1, but if i fly my plane for 1 hour, i go 150 miles - car has trouble going 60......

    jet fuel is refined diesel (or kerosene - same thing) - it is less volatile, but slightly more btus per gallon than mogas. (less that std diesel)

    avgas 18.355 pounds CO2 per US gallon,

    wasn't able to find jetA numbers.
