  1. yea- smarter FASTER. but smarter over the long-haul? no.

  2. I do believe it does. My daughter is 4 years old and has watched the Baby Einstein movies since birth. She has a wide vocabulary, she loves music, her imagination is thru the roof. I do not solely credit the movies for this, but they did help her along.

    D. Chandler

  3. There has been no clinical evidence, but I bought it for my child.  Why not give it a shot.  Definately can;t hurt

  4. i heard that they help to some extent...

  5. ANY exposure to literacy willl improve your childs ability to pick up concepts as they are older. This allows for recalland scaffolding as they mature.

  6. Awards and Recognition

Since its inception, The Baby Einstein Company has been a leading creator of award-winning products for babies and toddlers. Specific awards the company has received for its products, include:

Maybe reading their website would give you assistance.

p.s. Genetics play a huge role also, don't forget that!!

  7. Yes it can make babies and young children smarter.

Mozart was a musical genius - his music was written without error, first time, and often from complex ideas within the composer's mind.

It has a mathematical purity and simplicity/complexity (yes - I do mean both) about it which cannot ever be found in music of the popular genre.

It has been known to stimulate developing parts of the brain which control number and motor skills along with logic.

Having said that, try listening to "Fantasia on aTheme of Thomas Tallis" by Ralph Vaughan Williams.  Music is not a linear concept, it can be three dimensional.

  8. No, by the time children reach a certain age they all eventually catch on to the same concepts.

  9. Who knows for sure? I was against the videos at first for my baby, because I've heard that television watching of any kind can lead to attention problems  in children, even if its theme is classical music. But guess what I finally realized? Unless you throw the T.V. out with the trash, he is going to watch it, and, so you might as well show him a high-quality educational video like the BEinstein and Baby Genius (Baby Genius is cheaper, you can even get it at theDollar Store.) My child is 3 years old now and he still loves to watch them, I found it helps him relax, which helps me to relax as well. Any way, he is very smart for his age,so who knows, maybe the music did help.

  10. well in my personal opinion NO,

I have a friend who gave her son all the advatages and played the videos for her child,

I did not, i played sesame street, and we both read ect...

My child is far more advanced than her child and much more physically developed,

i am the mother of 3, and with my first i did not play any movies or watch any shows,  he never seemed to be academically bright but he was physically ,advanced,

now he is a great student,

my last child was developmentally delayed but he seems to be intellectually advanced and very observant,

but every child is diffrent none are the same,

i honestly believe that its the parents state of mind, how they interact ect..

and i believe they are all born with their own personalities, and intellegence. they all have their inate capacity, but its how you spend your time interacting and teaching them,

Baby einstein is a nice show but i don't see it truly changing them.

  11. Mozart music, yes.  It's been proven, and it's called the Mozart Effect.  Baby Einstein-not so sure.  The American Pediatric Association says that television is not recommended for any child 2 and under.  It has to do with their attention span.  I would just play the music and interact with them yourself.

  12. I am not sure about baby Einstein, but Mozart's music is clinically proved to be a source of memorry expansion.
