Does bad weather or anything affect the signal on digital tvs?

I live on the eastern flank of the blue ridge Mountans in Virginia. A friend of my brother gave me an early digital tv a few yeears ago. it was fried in a tstorm .I bought a TruTech digitv for $126. I get a broken pic on some of the digi channels. The words no signal comes on.

  1. Your location seems to indicate that your ability to pick up TV signals can be a problem. If you were getting snowy images in analog, you probably are getting the blocky or No Signal images in digital.

    You've got some options: Outdoor antenna, preamp, cable/satellite.

    Bad weather shouldn't affect the frequency bands where broadcast TV sits on. It's more a problem with the higher frequencies for satellite.


  2. Yes I think weather can cause disruptions to the tv if it is digital
