Does baking soda kill cats?

Ok. We put baking soda on our carpets to deodorize it but, I have a cat. Will it affect my cat?

  1. It shouldn't.  It's not toxic toward humans... we use it for cooking, so I'd say your cat will be okay.

  3. nope your cat will be fine.  Make sure to vacuum 30 minutes after using the soda as it can in rare cases be irritating to human and pet skin.

  4. In small amounts for cleaning, it's fine. Ingestion of large amounts can throw off enzyme levels in your cat and can be potentially harmful.

  5. Baking soda helps cakes rise, so the only thing that may happen is that your cat will start floating about in mid-air like a small hairy airship with whiskers.
