  1. Well if it makes you feel any better, I have done ballet for 12 years (6 on pointe) and I can't do a cartwheel either or any type of front roll or anything.

Ballet and gymnastics can be similar sports as far as certain things, but you don't have to have done both to be a good dancer or gymnast.

  2. no not really. cuz this will be my 8th year dancing and i can barely do a sommersault!

  3. Ballet is good for form.

I have been taking gymnastics/tumbling on and off for 9 years, and I have taken ballet for probably five of those years as well.

    Gymnastics takes time and patience.

Maybe you need someone to help you and show you tips on how to do a cartwheel.

Do you have a friend that is good at gymnastics that could help you?

I'm sure you'll get it in no time if you keep practicing. :)

  4. It can in a way. one of the gymnasts on my team dances and she is defiantly the most graceful out of all of us which really comes in handy on floor. She is also really good at dance because she does gymnastics, and she can add some better skills into the dance routine and has better leaps than most of the other girls she dances with.

  5. ballet and gymnastics are to tottally diffent things, the only comparisim is the physical movement, if they were to go together then you would have bin taught them both.

  6. Well, it sort of does. Gymnastics can help you be more flexible and it teaches you cartwheels and stuff like that. But if you can't cartwheel, that's no biggy. You can always ask someone to teach you. :]
