  1. This is a conditional-bi-conditional question.  It depends in the first condition upon the definition of "beauty".  It has been said--and rightly so, that 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder'.  The bi-conditional part of the question depends upon the definition of "intelligence".  Studies have demonstrated that "intelligence" is a lot more than mental age divided by chronological age multiplied times one-hundred. Granted "IQ" is dependent upon genetics: 23 chromosomes from the mother and 23 from the father and all the mutations and variations that end up creating the human being is one thing.  However, environment plays a KEY role in "intelligence".  Our prisons are full of brilliant and beautiful people, who have for whatever reason not mangaged to live up to what we as a society have come to "value".  "Value" itself is also dependent up one critical factor in this entire social, political and economic construct, which is "class".  It is the most critical cog in the equation of the answer you seek.  It is also the most disturbing in the ramifications of it's ancillary consequences on the answer as it is related to immediacy.  The old proverb of "one does not test the depth of a lake with both feet' is applicable here.  It's complicated.

  2. The power of immediate attraction however, beauty, at least purely physical beauty, lacks the staying power and ultimate attraction of intelligence.

Sadly, in most cultures and countries, women are not seen as equals to men in virtually all aspects instead of it being realized that together they represent the yin/yang.

    Be well.

  3. They would never be attracted to it, if it wasn't for the beauty.

Most people fear intelligence and beauty.  Some cannot contain it.

  4. yes beauty possesses more power and no intelligence is obviously not valued as beauty in women. at least not right now, we live in a world where people think paris hilton is cool and hot. look at the celebrities, not that theyre pretty theyre just made to look pretty and placed on the spotlight, without any real talent or any real anything. good for me i never look at them anyway.

  5. yes. both sexes look at the package first and think about everything else later. you already know the answer, to your question..women:intelligence v beauty. in a way, beauty is stressed more  than intelligence. look at your tv ads, billboards, etc. everything is geared towards beauty and then women are offended, when men act  the way they do.

  6. Sophists states it best. Beuaty is the eye catcher. Let's face it, regardless how shallow this sounds, men want a beautiful woman, and women go along way to meet the desires of men. As for intelligence, it is the trait that closes the deal.

  7. beauty: power to draw in

intelligence: power to maintain (or keep)

  8. Beauty is a base hit, personality is one right down the middle, intelligence puts you on third base and charisma is a home run.

  9. Beauty inspires passion, which can temporarily overwhelm intelligence and reason. But I think that eventually we realize the necessity of intelligence - especially when beauty fades, or we begin to take it for granted.

But when beauty and intelligence come together in a person or a work of art, it can illicit timeless admiration from men. Think of Helen of Troy, whose name still stands for supreme beauty; or the works of Homer themselves, forever immortalized as magnificent art.

  10. generally speaking ,men find intelligence in a woman threatening ,and are attracted to beautiful (.how many wives are more intelligent and educated than their husbands ?)

check the head lines ,very ,very few of them have anything to do with intelligence, it's pumped up lips ,and inflated b*****s all the way .they make the money ,=power.

  11. Is intelligence as slow

as the glance that you show

over your shoulder as you go

    happy with beauty, though

it must be something you know?

    Perhaps beauty would be naught

    if more cleverness were sought.

    Can intelligence be bought?

Texts could be writ and taught

    on what plain women wrought.

  12. people do not have a sign on their forehead that tells us how many degrees they have so we rely on our first instinct which is mainly visual. yes beauty does have more power but it is only fleeting the real power comes from intelligence.-blurey
