  1. they just hafta have a short armed strategy. they hafta get on the inside of their opponents jab and hurt them up close. watch micky wards fights.

  2. not at all, the shorter your arms are, the harder your hooks will be, because you body will swing more, creating more torque and shorter arm's usually means a shorter person, who is harder to hit if they use a bob and weave method, just watch some joe frazier, mike tyson, david tua, ray mancini fights and watch there footwork and body movement closely

  3. it can be if the taller person kept there jab up and and take them out but a shrter person always has to go in and try to knock him out

  4. He does if you stay on the outside the whole fight and are landing any type of punches.  He has no chance in that scenario

  5. It would be an advantage if you can get inside. Long armed guys have no power up close.

  6. Rocky Marciano had very short arms and became a heavyweight champion -undefeated- Still I think he would have had problems with men like Sonny Liston and particularly Lennos Lewis.  You have to get close and against a jab like Lennox's chances are slim.  Lewis is a much bigger man but still a heavyweight as was Rocky.  Mike Tyson had short arms and had difficulty with big men.  It can be overcome but you better be Jake Lamotta type tough.

  7. it can make it more difficult if the other person has a much bigger arm reach. What this translates into is simply having a different style of fighting. I don't think Tyson had too many disadvantages over many and he had the same body type. Most of the people he fought were much taller than him and that's how he developed his brutal in style fighting with devastating hooks

  8. mike tyson had short arms and he was undisputed champ.rocky marciano had the shortest arms of all heavyweight champs and retired undefeated

  9. No. Boxing is about wits not physical strengths or advantages.

It's about using your head, and figuring out your opponent's weaknesses. Every boxer has a weakness no matter how big, small or experienced.
