Does being a woman give you more freedom and expression-possible double standard?

I am wondering if being a woman gives you more freedom and expression. For women, you have the freedom to choose and wear variety of clothes, so many shoes, a choice to wear makeup or no makeup. Women can express them selves in so many different ways and it is not considered abnormal.

Girls can play with things that boys play with and its not abnormal, but the same does not hold true vice versa.

Now, as a crossdresser, I wish I had the freedom to wear a skirt one day and a pair of jeans the next day. Or wear just paint my toe nail,or do my makeup, wo/ society saying that I am wierd and should go die.

Is there a double standard against men who wish to be more feminine?

  1. Yes, there are double standards in many issues towards men and women.

As I mentioned in my other reply, this society has its' "gender roles", as does each society/culture.

Women who have very short hair, husky voices, strong features/approach are classified as bull dykes or masculine.

Men who have softer features, personalities/behaviours or wear female clothing are classified as effeminate.

It goes both ways. No one here is free of judgment and intolerance, whether he/she conforms or is a minority (in any respect). As I said, freedom of expression has a price.
