Does being attracted to older men make me awkward or a sicko?

well basically , I'm 15 and I feel attracted to older men . Now I have a crush on Hugh Laurie . is that sick ? I just like men because they're more mature and responsible than your average Jimmy-18-Has-A-Ferrari type of boy .

does that make me a sicko ?

As long as you are not dating an "older" man, then being attracted to an older movie/tv star is totally okay. When I was your age, there was a Doctor TV show....Dr. Killdaire and Dr. Ben Casey, then there were two Secret agent type men on The Men From U.N.C.L.E. Almost every teenage girl had a poster of them and a crush. They were sooooo "manly" these mature older men.  You are attracted to them because you think they have it all together and are experienced....believe me....older men have just as many flaws, hang-ups, etc. as the guys your age...difference..the only thing worse than a fool is an old fool. Unless, you are looking for a Father Image....you are just fine.

You can't control who you are attracted to.  You just happen to be attracted to older men.  Nothing creepy about that.  Perfectly healthy to fantasize about them too.  However, you are 15 and sometimes in youth we are impressionable and have difficulty sorting out our feelings.  Don't allow yourself to start getting involved with older men at your age.  It will be nothing but grief for you.  Maintain healthy relationships with people of your own age and when you turn 18...do what you please.

The only thing I found creepy in this question is that you are crushing on House, MD.  ; )

I was attracted to men over 20years older than me and I ended up being with one. I'm not a sicko, but many men wil take advantage of you and hurt you in more ways you can imagine if you pursue them because you simply think they're more mature.

No I think a lot of girls are attracted to older men for the exact same reason you stated... they are just more mature.

Or you never grew up with a father figure and are sub-consciously reaching out for one in your desire for older men.

No, of course it does not make you different in any way.

It is good to have a respect for older people (even men) because they have more experience and (hopefully) wisdom.

It would not be a good idea, however, to begin a relationship with one.

No, it doesn't make you a sicko to be attracted to them, but it's not a good idea to try to have relationships with older men when you're 15.  Anybody over, say, 20 who is interested in a relationship with a 15 year old girl probably has some issues and is not actually mature and responsible.  Admiring them from a distance is harmless and probably even normal.
