Does being fit and in shape help stay awake off less sleep?

I've noticed that I rarely get tired after getting a consistent weekly gym routine going on. I also play ultimate frisbee once a week.

Or is this a wrong conclusion?

  1. you gain more energy when u exercise, so yes you will become less sleepy
