I mean the Brooklyn [Kings County NY ] Borough President presides over a population that is 3.73 times the size of Alaska and that if that person was as young and as inexperienced as Palin is then nobody would support her as McCain's VP choice

The population is 683,478.  It's the 3rd-least populated state in the country.  In fact, Obama's district when he was state senator for 8 years had almost as many people (653,647).

Being governor of Alaska for 18 months counts, but it's certainly not enough to prepare Palin to be president of the United States if old man McCain keels over.  Not even close.

Alaska has too many problems.  Crime there is bad.  Rapes,

murder, drugs, alcohol.  You name it they have it,  and the prisons

there are filled to capacity.  This woman does not know enough

about politics to be vice president of the US.  And she is also  a woman,  no offense.  But isn't that why Hillary did not win the

nomination ?  Hypocrisy.  McCain does not have a chance.

If you had watched the introduction of Sarah Palin as the vice presidential candidate, you would know her accomplishments are right in line with the needs of our country. Too bad she is not running for the top job.But with her to be his back up, no better candidate has been found than McCain. This is the real dream team that I have been looking for. At first McCain was not my choice, but on reflection, I think he is right for the job and with her as a vice pres., This country will improve, but we need to get a republican controlled congress so the dem's can't do to McCain what they have done to bush.

Alaska is twice the size of Texas - three times the size if you measure it before and after high tide.  You can't go from end of the place to  the other in one day.

Nearly 80% of all the seafood for the USA comes from Alaska - along with the metals needed for many alloys.  Not to mention nearly all the oil for California and the rest of the west coast.  Chances are good the wood in house is from Sitka Spruce harvested in Alaska.

Alaska shares a long ocean border, airspace, and two land bridges with Russia.  Has your Governor had to deal with Russian issues, ships and war planes flying over your state?  Does your Governor deal with Asian state sponsored poachers?

When the temps hit -10F in Boston it becomes a state wide emergency.  What would your Governor do when it hits -80F like it does in Alaska each and every year?  Besides freeze.

Alaska shares disputed waters with Canada - lots of political issues for fishing rights.  Does your Governor deal with this on a daily basis?

Alaska is the buffer between North Korea and the rest of the crazy asian countries hostile to the contenintial USA.  Star Wars is here.  Ground Missile Defense is here.  So are some of the biggest Air Force and Army bases - Elmendorf AFB, Eielson AFB, Ft Richardson, FT Greely, and FT Wainwright - all with troops rotating into and out of Iraq and Afgahanistan.  Not to mention Alaska has the largest US Coast Guard Base.  The governor's office is stuck dealing with all the issues of having these big super bases.

Alaska host several yearly military war games with countries from all over the free world - both air warfare and ground warfare - does you Governor have to deal with this?

I did not grow up in Alaska - but - it just amaizes me how much people in the US do not know about their biggest state.  If Americans are as ill informed about all the different countries in the world as they are with the state of Alaska - I can understand now why everyone else thinks Americans are idiots.

Considering Alaska has enough low sulphur coal to power the entire USA for 500 years and enough oil to provide 100% of the USA's needs for nearly 200 years - people might want to start learning about the place.

What really ticks me off is that here we have a lady who is being investigated, she also went back to work only 3 days after having her little one. I am a conservative and here we go again! I really wanted to be able to get behind my party but now they have completely alienated me, McSame just picked a woman to have a woman on the ticket, sadly it seems that trying to win over dem's who loved Hillary was more important than making us happy and I am truly insulted, that goes along with 95% of my conservative friends that I have spoken with today, She is clueless! This c**p about executive experience is killing me, she ran a town of 5500 people and was only elected to governor because they hated the other choice up there.

Does being a senator in Delaware where Biden's from count?

In population rankings, Alaska is 48th and Delaware is 45th. Alaska's one of the largest states and Delaware one of the smallest.

Ironically, Palin is actually more qualified to be president than Obama and she's just the VP. She's run a town as well as a state. Obama's never run anything but his mouth and he sure has been stuttering a lot lately.

I think it does count because Alaska nomatter how far away it is is still considered to be one of the 50 states. On the other hand i think Mcclone is just scared that he isnt going to win, so that is why he picked a woman in hopes that more women would back him. Plus this lady hardly has any experience...and i think Mcclone is trying to over shadow his old age with a young fresh face..but it isnt going to work because Obama is going to win!!!
