  1. yes, and if you are conscerned with losing weight you have to lose weight all over, not in any particual spot.

  3. I have done a lot of biking.  It worked ok.

    However, I have found the best combination is:

    1.  Running 2-3 times per week (2-5 miles run/walk)

    2.  Pilates 2x per week (with private instruction!)

    3.  Yoga 2-3 times per week

    I have done this routine for 4 years now.

    I get lots of compliments.

    I used to hate buying clothes.  Now I love it!!!

    And I was never a big shopper!!

    I think running is better than biking to keep your weight down.

    I have done both.  Running works better.  You do not have

    to go far or go fast, but if you get out there consistently,

    it _will_ work.  I took a "Women's Running 101" class to

    help me out.  It was a very supportive clasee and exremely

    helpful.

  5. Anything that gets your heart rate up is good for helping you burn calories and burning more calories then you take in is going to help you lose weight. Also it will help tone your muscles and the more your muscles are in shape the more fat you will burn.

Biking can be great exercise.  It can burn calories and build muscles.  However, biking in traffic is very unhealthy.  I persoanlly know a guy who was killed when he was hit by a car.  Biking on trails where there are no cars is a good idea.  Biking alongside a road with cars whizzing by is too dangerous and the risk of being killed or crippled outweighs the health benefits.

  14. Yes! I started biking every day for at least 30 mins and I lost a whopping 40 pounds. :D

  15. YES. Especially the legs and abdomen (if you can contract your ab muscles while doing it). If you pedal at a fast enough rate, and keep you heart rate steady, it is a very effective workout.

  18. Biking is Definitely good for your body. The motion your legs make give you leg exercise, and the flawed roads give you more of a work out.

  25. would they sell so many exercise bikes i ask myself, my partner once put mine right infront of the radiator in summer and put heating on sure did loose some that day
