  1. In short, No..........simply because

Blu-ray is a seperate medium, DVD is it's own medium. It's exactly like trying to put a DVD in a CD player.

  2. Nope, but DVDs will play in a Blu ray player.

  3. No it won't. The laser technology and electronics are too  different.

However Blu-ray players are desiged to play an ordinary DVD.

  4. No. Blu-Ray discs require a blue laser that is calibrated to read the tinier dots on a Blu-Ray disc. A BR disc can hold about 50gb of data and a DVD is only 8.5. That's a huge difference in the size of the dots on the disc. BR players can also read DVDs and CDs as they have a 2nd laser for that.

DVDs use red lasers and are calibrated only to read DVDs and CDs. They will be unable to read BR discs. Even if they could, they use different video encoding and therefore require different software.

HD DVD was neat becuase they could make one side a DVD and the other side HD DVD. This is probably what you're thinking of. They may be able to do this with Blu-Ray someday, but not yet.

  5. No it doesnt coz u cnt play CD's on it so i think its poo and rubbish to be honest.
