Ive heard that blue ray movies will downscale to 480p if you aren't using hdmi to hdmi or the dvi connector on the tv/monitor is not HDCP compliant. However, if the connector IS HDCP compliant will it still downscale or stay at 1080i?

  1. If it is DHCP compliant, there should be no issue watching at either 1080i or 720p.

  2. chris both hdmi and dvi can carry the 1080i picture signal , but u will lose the sound carry of the hdmi , which carries both video and sound, where as dvi is just video..
