I'm a big fan of drinking ionized alkaline water- I want to use it for teas and soups, but I'm not sure if boiling the alkaline water will affect it's ph balance - does anyone know? Also - can alkaline water be stored without losing it's ph balance?

  1. Heat changes the physical properties of water not its chemical properties...unless the hydrogen bonds of the molecules break, the water should remain in tact, but in gaseous form. Using pH paper or meter, you can check in the pH of the boiled alkaline water before and after boiling once it has cooled and compare...should be roughly the same.
