  1. People may say yes to this question, but the real answer is probably no. The reason i say this is BOXING IS ORGANIZED AND REAL WORLD FIGHTING IS UNPREDICTABLE.

However, boxing will make you tougher, so you will learn how to take a punch. In fact why are you asing this question anyway? You should only fight when it's necessary. My policy is to only fight to protect your life, and those around you.  The reason why I say this is because A guy pulled brass knuckles out when he was trying to fight me, When he did this, and took a swing at my friend(this was at a high school football game btw) i pushed the punch to the side, and paint brushed his shoulder. He can't use his left arm anymore because i tore every ligament and tendon in his shoulder, and dislocated it. I had nightmares for about 2 weeks after this happened.

So, dont go looking for trouble and starting fights. But if it happens, remeber what you learned in boxing. Stay cool, calm, collected, keep your puches tight inside, and keep your hands up.

  2. Definately, that's how I've recieved the best fighting rep. at my school.

  3. Depends on what kind of boxer you are. If you are a defensive master and have honed your reflexes and timing, it's going to be very hard for any guy off the street to even land a punch on you. Instead, they are going to look like an idiot trying to hit you, and leaving themselves upon for you to pot-shot or counter.

If you are just a typical brawler that uses your face to block punches, aka Ricki Hatton, the dude off the street definitly going to have chances to nail you.

  4. yes and no.

Untrained fighters throw wide punches and use there upper body for power.  Trained fighters throw straight shorter punches and use their legs, tights and lower body for power. This makes for a stronger punch.

Any trained fighter.... boxing or martial arts will always have an advantage.

However.... EVERYONE has a punchers chance.
