Does braces hurt or at least make you gums hurt?

i'm getting braces this summer and i'm getting really freaked out. I'm afraid it will hurt

It won't hurt while you're getting them, but after they're finished.

Woaah. Not to scare you or anything, just being honest. They will hurt alot. I had to drink soup and noodles for atleast 2 weeks after I got them.

It doesn't hurt when your getting your braces... but when you get your wires tightened it starts hurting then.

Yes, they do hurt.  It feels like someone is really pushing on your teeth and it hurts to chew.

But after a while, they stop hurting and you just get used to them.

yes it will hurt. they are moving ur teeth around!!   butttt in the end you will be sooo happy you were lucky enough to have braces!! good luck :)

i got my braces this morning and they hardly hurt!! it kind of hard to eat though. so dont worry on a scale 1 to 10 i would say the pain is a 3.
