  1. Yes it helps but carrying a baby 4 nine months and looking in its precious face knowing that it relies on you totally is just as good don't let anyone tell you you won't b as close to u baby cause its not true

  2. Oxytocin also known as the hormone of love, is produced while breastfeeding, it brings about a sense of well being, and encourages bonding on a hormonal level.

  3. The same hormone that is release during s*x, oxytoxin, and creates a bond with your partner, is the same hormone released during breastfeeding.

I defiinitely think it bonds you to your baby.  I can think of no better thing than when I have nursed my children.

Those rich children also were more bonded to their wet nurses and nannies than their parents too, back then.

  4. No, breastfeeding in itself doesn't make you bond with your baby. Spending time with your baby and responding to his/her needs are the most important factors in bonding and enabling the formation of healthy attachment.

  5. lol, yes breastfeeding does make you bond BUT I was unable to continue breastfeeding ( I really wanted to but I was unable to produce enough milk and I was battling infections after birth) and I had to bottle feed and I am still able to bond with my little man..I love nothing more than rocking him in the middle of the night when its just the two of us and he is looking right into my eyes the whole time Im feeding him, a mom and her baby can bond just as much no matter how she is feeding him!

  6. Scientifically it is not.. Dont take any sentimental talks.........

    Just do whtever u want!!!!

  7. you can bond with your baby by breast feeding, by bottle feeding, by bathing your baby , by cuddling your baby , by talking to your baby, by dressing your baby, by playing with your baby, by loving your baby.....

while it's wonderful to decide to breastfeed - not everybody can - so it's wrong to say that it's the best and only way to bond with your child....there are many many ways....

  8. Sure i does, like alot of things that you can do one on one with your baby. It is not the only way you can bond though, just like you have said in your question, people in the olden days used to use wet nurses. So they would have used other ways to bond with their children.

    such as

    Singing, Hugging, Reading

    there are a few

  9. Yes and now rich people just get their nanny to give a bottle.

Do you see a lot of people raised by nannies that are deeply bonded to their moms?  (And I don't mean those that use nannies while they work 8 hours a day, I mean those who have nannies raise their kids 24/7)

  10. YES! Breast feeding is the sweetest thing!  There is nothing like it.  And, it's so much easier than formula.  This sounds geeky, but, breast is best!

And yes, women back in the day had what was called a wet-nurse.  Not sure of the reasons.

  11. Yes, it's beyond anything else and creates a wonderful connection between mother and child!!  :)  This is not to say formula feeding moms don't bond with their babies; as long as they hold them and talk/coo/kiss while they give bottles, it's great.  I have seen bottles being given to babies strapped in strollers/shopping carts though, which burns me up!!!  HOLD YOUR KID!!!!!!!

Regarding the wet nurses in the past, those rich kids weren't just nursed by other women, but physically sent away for a year or more!!   :(  I find that horribly sad.

  12. To answer both questions:  Yes and Yes

  13. Yes it does - it's a deep bond that will truly bring you together. And those rich people really missed out when their kids grew up loving their nannies more than them.
