  1. Brown rice and pasta have a slight nutty flavor. They both take a little longer to cook, and brown rice is never as tender as white rice.  But the browns are better than the whites for your health.

  2. Who cares, just eat it..

  3. Here's a good instant brown rice that tastes delicious.  I always use half for dinner and the other half for lunch the next day (mixed with veggies and whatnot, or for fried rice if it's a weekend lunch)

I think brown rice is better and more filling and when you cook it yourself (it takes about 45 minutes) it fills your whole kitchen with the aroma, it smells amazing.  Plus brown rice makes much better leftovers (fried rice or just microwaved to go with steamed vegetables)

I always eat whole wheat pasta also, and don't think it's any different in warm pasta dishes, but I would recommend enriched pastas for cold pasta dishes, like the different color ones, whole wheat isn't so good for cold pasta dishes.

  4. It takes a little longer to cook, but is MUCH healthier for you to eat, and despite what the picky eaters above me have said, it actually tastes very good and there is barely a noticeable, if any, difference in taste.

  5. Very different. Brown is gross. If you like white you probably wont like brown. I tried to make the switch from white to healthier brown... but that was a no go after trying it. Ick ick ick.

  6. For some of us who are diabetics and must not eat so many grams of carb, the brown rice and pasta don't help too much at all. So for taste I prefer to have the white of either of these. They all spike my glucose and taste is everything.

Taste is always different in even the different varieties of rice. We all tend to eat what is familiar and like it or not better than what is unfamiliar.

Whether it is healthier or not is a matter of judgement of the person eating it. Healthy foods are better in small amounts so everything is healthy!

  7. I notice a difference witht he rice more than the pasta. When I first tried the brown pasta I was unsure but if it is cooked well and there is a sauce on it you can barely tell.

  8. Yes, it is better for you, but i don't like it. I like wholewheat bread, but not rice or pasta, the rice tends to be harder than white, it does fill you up for longer and is better for your bowels, but it is all down to personal taste. Try it! x
