  1. building muscles on neck has nothing to do dodge punches to the face, it can help you to take some punches

  2. Um....no. The ability to dodge punches actually comes from the legs.

  3. It helps you take a punch better.  The stronger your necj is the better off you are when getting hit to the head.

  4. I really wouldn't think so, I think it would help you take punches to the head better though. I heard your head snapping back is one of the worst things that can happen when getting smashed in the face.

  5. Umm no.. It just makes you look freakish.

  6. no this comes from you hips and back muscles.

  7. no but working on your reflexes will help you move out the way of punches

  8. no i would not think so it would make your head not jerk as far from the contact but seeing as your neck doesnt move no neck muscle would not help in eluding a punch

  9. In a way, yes.  What is important here is the head movement.  Mastering this skill allows you to easily dodge or evade punches, like Mike Tyson did in his younger days.  And of course, it is necessary to have a strong and flexible neck to perfect head movement.  Tyson had a very thick neck it and apparently helped him perfect his head movement, because he was really very quick with it.

  10. My husband used to be a boxer and he says no.  Building your abdominal muscles & obliques would allow you to twist your trunk to evade a punch.  You don't duck a punch from the neck but by swiveling your body.
