Ive been living in Texas for last 4 years as an F1 student. If I buy a house in Texas and pay for it upfront can i get a residency?

  1. NO -- permanent residency has nothing to do with being a homeowner.



    To get permanent residency, you have to go through the long process in any of these ways:

    - an employer sponsors you for permanent residency (via H1B or EAD Employment Authorization Document

    - you are petitioned as an immigrant by a relative

    - you have a US citizen fiancee who petitions you

    But buying a house has nothing to do with it
