Does buying the latest iPod software mean that it will apply to all of your iPod touches?

I got an iPod touch. And soon came the software update so I bought it for $9.99. I recently got another iPod touch but have not yet opened it. Will the software update I bought be used on this iPod too? Or do I have to buy the update again?

I think it only applies to the iPod touch you've purchased the update for. iTunes checked the serial numbers multiple times. I've been hesitant to update as well, but I'll try it later and see if it works on my friend's iPod Touch too.

Also, Firmware 2.0.2 is roaming around the internet somewhere if you just want to try that first without paying.
