Does caffeine have negative effects on those who are bipolar?

It can make us more anxious.

yes it does.  Caffeine is a drug.  It effects how anyone fuctions.  Especilly hypomanias it can make them more severe......racing thoughts, rapid speach, unable to sit still, unable to sleep and those behaviours only makes them worse.  I have bipolar.  I know the days that i have to avoid any caffene at all.  And for the most part, i can only drink one drink with caffene, and only early in the morning.

Same with alcohol.....brings mood down.  Causes depression, or increases depression.
