  1. I know of several South African doctors in Canada, so nurses should be no problem.  Your skills are in high demand and finding work once your visa has cleared should be no problem.

Contact the regulatory authorities for your profession in both countries to find out about specific qualifications.  In Canada, Nursing is regulated provincially; however, they do have a national professional organization that can put you in touch with provincial resources.  Most of the regulated health professions have provincial regulatory bodies with their requirements for licensing available on their websites.  Your current qualifications may be tested and compared to Canadian requirements, and you will be required to have a work visa before being eligible for your license.  Good luck!
