Does canada have to pay road tax if so how much per year?

im immigrating to ontario and trying to gather as much info as i can so if you can help me answer this question i would appreciate it very much.

  1. There is no specific 'road tax' that I'm aware of...there are some toll roads here and there, but for the most part the Department of Highways get a chunk of your income/municipal taxes to cover the costs...


  2. THe only 'road taxes' are applied to fuel, but even that money is not directly linked to roads, it goes into general revenues of the governments.

    We do have a few toll highways, but those can always be avoided by taking different routes if you choose to take a little more time.
