  1. Yeah Canada definitely has a lower population than England. Even though we're the second largest country in the world, most of our land is uninhabitable.

  2. Canada's current population is 33 million people. england's population is 61 million. The reason is that not all of Canada's land mass is

suitable for living in. In the Far North our Northwest Territories, Nunavut and the Yukon are very sparsely populated due to severe weather in the winter. The Northern part of the provinces are heavily forested and unsuitable again for urban settings. Most of Canada's population is concentrated along the USA and Canada border because it is the most temperate claimate area of Canada. However with global warming they expect that the northern areas will warm up and be

available for farming and then you will see a huge increase in our population.

  3. Yup.

United Kingdom — Population: 60,776,238 (July 2007 est.)

    Canada — Population: 33,390,141 (July 2007 est.)

  4. The previous answers are all correct.  You might also be interested to know that 90% of the Canadian population resides within 100 miles of the US border.  There is only one city larger than 100,000 people that is a greater distance than 100 miles, that is Edmonton, Alberta, pop approx 800,000.

  5. UK has almost twice as many actually.   Canada is 33 million and UK about 70 million.  Not only that but 90% of Canad's population is in a dozen or so urban centers leaving the rest of the country wide open.

i am quite happy with that in Canada... nothing better than open spaces and wilderness.

  6. Look at it this way, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan is a major city in Saskatchewan (the largest in fact).  Saskatoon has a population of about 250,000.  Saskatoon is the same size as London and London has what, around 7 million people or more!!!  As I understand it, England as a whole can fit in Saskatchewan 4 times (could be wrong, it could be more) and Saskatchewan has 1 million people...

And just to clarify, Saskatchewan is one province in Canada.  There are 10 provinces and 4 territories in Canada.
