  1. Sometimes it does.   Look at your policy.  If you don't have your policy then ask your agent or insurance  company for a copy.  You can ask them about the coverages but still get a copy of the policy so you can see for yourself.

Some companies do cover loss wages.

  2. No, car insurance does not pay for lost wages.  Have you filed for state temporary disability?

  3. Yes, they do, but it all depends. I'm going through that right now. My Chiropractor (who's also a lawyer) said that they will pay but only for a few weeks or days in minor accidents. She also said that they only pay that for labor intensive jobs. Insurance companies are really cracking down on these accidents. But I tell you one thing don't wait on that check, because it will be a while before you see any of that money. Lost wages and compensation can take up to a year, sometimes longer. The only check that comes in timely manor is the one for damges to the vehicle. That's only so they won't have to pay for a rental. Sorry to hear about your bills, but if u want your money u have to get on that insurance ccompany.

    Best of luck to you.

  4. Ever seen an Aflac commercial? Sorry, the answer is probably no. What you needed was Short Term Disability insurance. Some rare policies do have a supplemental accident policy built into them that would help. Check with your agent.

  6. IF you bought lost wages coverage on your policy - sometimes called PIP, or Lost wages, or possibly some other name, it will cover lost wages, for you not being able to work because of your injury.  It does NOT cover lost wages because you couldn't get to work because you had no car, or because you went to the doctor instead of work.

You file under your own policy.

If you're trying to collect under someone else's, they also don't pay because you couldn't get to work because you had no car, or went to the doctor instead.  In some states, they won't pay no matter what, you always have to go under your OWN policy.  If fault is being contested, they won't pay until it's decided.

Bottom line - you need to pay those bills.  If they go to collections, YOU are the one who will be held responsible for them, ultimately.  Not the insurance company.
