My cat got his annual rabies and distemper shot today and now he is twitching every 10 - 15 seconds and he is obsessively l*****g his paws. Is this normal?

  1. it's do not does.

  2. Yes and sometimes life threatening. My RedCat had a severe reaction to the rabies vaccination last year and he died. We had the Vet do an autopsy and they concurred he was allergic to that particular strain of the vaccine.

Please take your kitty back to the Vet and have him checked out. I would hate for you to lose your baby like I did.

  3. It is normal for cats to have side affects from vaccinations. Typically, they may be lethargic, have some soreness where the shots were given, and sometimes some sneezing.

It is not uncommon for them to have an allergic reaction. If he does not seem better in the morning, I would call your vet.

It could just be that he is not thrilled about his experience today, but contacting his doctor is always a good idea if you are worried.
