Does catnip have the same effect on other felines as it does on house cats?

Yes.  At the Phoenix Zoo they give the big cats a nip from time to time.   Of course they have to get a proportional dose.

ABSOLUTELY!!!

I work at a local zoo and we have bobcats, lynx and mountain lions. All three enjoy catnip enrichment regularly. Of course, since the reaction to catnip is a genetic trait, not all big cats will enjoy it just as not all domesticated cats will enjoy it. Our male lynx goes into a catnip trance and our male mountain lion will rub for hours if given fresh catnip (or cat mint)
