  1. or Manly for that matter? I know the eagles have a few more tv games coming up but they and Storm haven't been respected enough by ch9. If I had never watched League before and tuned in this year I would say Bulldogs were #1 by a mile, along with Penrith and Dragons but they are all near the bottom.

One of the problems is that ch9 have to give the next 6 or so games in advance which means they have to guess which teams will be good to watch. The 2007 draw isn't predetermined for which day each team plays - only who plays who week by week.

The one positive is that I hate the popular teams like bulldogs and dragons so at least I can enjoy watching them get beaten!

  2. What do you mean nobody follows Rugby in Victoria? - Origin II outrated the EJ Whitten Game!

And Channel Nine nor Foxtel showed it live (here in Victoria) - which was a tragedy!!

And you are right!  Come on Channel Nine - stop showing crud and show us some Rugby.

And I too am glad I have Foxtel!

  3. Because we in Melbourne dont care about Rugby Leauge at all. We'll watch some Soccer or Rugby Union as these are International Sports but take out people from NSW/Qld or NZ from a Storm crowd and you have about 200 people left!

I'm not putting the sport down, I doubt AFL is much better in Sydney but these are the facts.

  4. To all the people that whinge about not seeing their team on free to air tv i say stop being cheap and get foxtel... You can get all the sports channels which include every game live for just under thirty dollars a month... Even people living on the dole can manage that...

  5. They like to get the Queenslanders on I think, but you have to admit their State Of Origin 1 coverage was pretty aswome.

Carroll to hammer White again in State Of Origin 2.

    Queenslander!!!

  6. channel 9 go for the masses, so they'll want to keep sydney teams on air...

  7. Since Victoria isn't generally an NRL state the coverage doesn't usually take much weight in decision making.

It would be good to see some more matches on channel 9 but since I have foxtel I usually get my weekly NRL fix pretty easily.

  8. I also live in melbourne and have foxtel so I am lucky but you have a great point.  I am a massive Panthers fan but I was amazed that  they televised Panthers vs Souths.

Just remember, Eddie runs nine at the moment, why would he want people to know of the Melbourne Storm when they can follow his AFL.

I have written to the NRL and 9. No response from 9 but NRL aren't happy with 9's arrangements.
