  1. I took Chantix for a few days but had to stop it because it made me extremely depressed and I was constantly feeling sick. I take two forms of cortisone and a thyroid hormone. At the pharmacy they told me that there are no known drug interactions with my meds.

Still, after five days I had enough and stopped taking Chantix.

That reminds me, in some people it is linked to suicide. You can check this here http://www.pharmalot.com/2008/02/chantix... If you google "Chantix and suicide" you will find many more links like this.

    Edit:

Pfizer, the company that makes Chantix, says that the suicides could be linked not to the drug but is caused by quitting smoking. I quit, without Chantix and was not depressed, on the contrary, every day I started to feel better and better from not smoking, physically and mentally. And while I was taking Chantix I had not quit yet but was depressed anyway, so for me it was definitely the Chantix that made me depressed.

    Good luck quitting!!!

  2. Champix is known to aggrevate depression I tried it for 3 weeks and had to stop as it was making me really sick.

  3. I tried Champix too and had to stop after a few days, made me feel sick, dizzy and anxious

  4. What does your doctor say? If you are feeling apprehensive about taking them then I would try an alternative way of quitting smoking. I have a friend who took Champix and she got very distress because she put on a lot of weight.

I have stopped for 3 months now, using patches. I know a couple of people who gave up instantly through a programme on the internet.

It all depends on what works for you.

    Good luck
