Does changing computer name will affect the networking of a computer?

i have an internet shop and i want to change my computer's name . i'm wondering if changing computer's name will mess up my networking setup.

    if you change tcp/ip setting yes..


  2. If you don't use file sharing or other remote access software where you use the computer's name, then it won't matter. (And even then you'd just have to use the new name instead of the old name.) The main thing it would affect would be automatically mounted network shares. (And if you don't know what those are, then you aren't likely using them so don't need to worry.)

    If this is a computer basically just used to access the internet through a shared internet connection, the computer's name shouldn't matter. (AKA a  typical PC in a cyber cafe.)
