  2. Nope.  But you don't just slide over, you need to do the orbital mechanics.

    Let's say you want to move forward in your orbit.  Which way do you thrust to?  If you thrust towards your goal, you'll move to a higher orbit, which is slower - and you'll end up behind where you wanted to go.  So you have to do a reverse thrust, dropping to a lower, faster orbit.  Then thrust to speed up to get back up to the Geo orbit.  It's a little counter intuitive.
