  1. Lemon Laws vary by state in regards to new and/or used vehicles. It normally needs to be a safety issue. If there are no severe symptoms, and the dealer is offering you compensation, take it and run!

  2. If you are compensating an attorney to handle your case, why are you not taking his advice?

I'm sure he has experts that have told him a check engine light is not considered a major problem (it isn't) so he passed that information along to you with recommendations.  And what do you do?  Ignore him and ask us.

  3. It depends what the check engine light is for, get the error codes checked for free at a car parts store ( I think auto zone checks it for free, not 100% sure, call around) if it is a simple problem like a gas cap off, take the settlement, if it is something major then lemon laws may cover it.

  4. Check engine light will come on if you leave your gas cap off. Listen to your lawyer.
