  1. Yes.

Chicken broth is made by boiling a chicken carcass or chicken bones with water and vegetables.

Most commercial and home-made will be like this.

However, you can get commercial chicken "style" broth for vegetarians / vegans, check the packet upon purchase

(i.e.) the Massell range in Australia .

    .

  2. Yes, chicken broth contains dehydrated chicken and chicken fat.

Use vegetarian vegetable broth (make sure it's vegetarian because some vegetable broth contains chicken fat) or vegetarian "chicken" broth.

  3. Not all chicken broths are technically chicken. Some are merely chicken-flavoured. Such as, Mr. Noodles, if you read the ingredients, contain no actual meat or any animal by-products.

(My mom is vegetarian and eats them)

  4. Chicken broth is made from chickens.  It is chicken pieces, sometimes including the skins and vegetables and some simple herbs and spices, boiled with water.  It is cooled, then is skimmed, poured through a china cap or cheesecloth and what remains is broth, so yes, it is from chicken.

  5. Chicken broth is made with chicken meat. A chicken is killed to flavor your soup. So there, as a vegetarian, you would not want to eat anyhing with chicken broth. Nor, would you eat most soups, because they usually are made with pork fet.
